The MIRA Foundation trains and provides guide dogs and assistive dogs to many clients in Eastern and Central Canada. They even have satellite operations in Mexico and France. The school is located about 25 kilometres north of Montreal in Sainte-Madelaine.

Guide Dogs for the Blind is the only school that has a separate class for blind persons returning for new dogs. Since 1942 this school has trained in California, but a second campus has opened in Boring, Oregon recently. Classes start monthly.

The dorms at Southeastern Guide Dogs provide a feeling of home for its students. This school trains the standard breeds as well as Australian Shepherds, Pointers, and other suitable breeds.

With 9000 people-dog teams to its credit since 1939, Leader Dogs for the Blind breeds and trains its own dogs, but will accept suitable dogs from the community. Thirteen classes of up to 24 people are formed yearly.

Guiding Eyes is one of the larger guide dog schools in the nation, and trains people with multiple handicaps, as well as the blind.
