ELECTOR REGISTRATION AT THE VOTING PLACE - IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED

Resident Electors

If you are not on the Saanich List of Electors but qualify to vote as a resident elector, you must do the following at the voting place before you cast your ballot:

If you do not have any identification that shows your place of residence, two pieces of identification are still required (at least one with your signature) and you must make a solemn declaration as to your place of residence.

Non-Resident Property Electors

If you are not on the Saanich List of Electors but qualify to vote as a non-resident property elector, you must do the following at the voting place before you cast your ballot:

*You may apply for a non-resident property elector certificate on General Voting Day or on the two Advance Voting Days at the Office of the Municipal Clerk, Saanich Municipal Hall, 770 Vernon Avenue.

ELECTOR QUALIFICATIONS

In order to vote as a resident elector you must be 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, a resident of BC for 6 months and a resident of Saanich for 30 days. In order to vote as a non-resident property elector you must have owned property in Saanich for at least 30 days but be a resident of another community, you must be 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of BC for 6 months. You are not eligible to vote if you have been convicted of an indictable offence and are in custody or have been found guilty of an election offence.
