Applications to Increase Rates for 1994 and 1995, Rate Design and
Integrated Resource Plan

On November
30, 1993 West Kootenay Power Ltd. (
WKP
) applied to the Commission for an order approving an interim refundable
rate increase of 7.6
percent, applied uniformly to all classes of service effective with
consumption on and after January
1, 1994, along with a further increase of 5.6
percent on January
1, 1995.  A reduced interim increase was confirmed by Order No. G-125-93
effective January 1, 1994.   WKP also filed an Integrated Resource Plan
("IRP") and an Application for approval of rate design measures.

The Decision on the WKP Applications was rendered on June 17, 1994 and is
available from the Commission, free of charge, upon request.

British Columbia Utilities Commission

Return on Equity Hearing ("ROE" Joint Hearing)

A generic hearing affecting the rates of return on common equity for BCUC
regulated utilities including       BC Gas, West Kootenay Power, Pacific
Northern Gas and Centra Gas was heard from April 5 to 15, 1994 in the
Commission's Hearing Room.  A decision was rendered on June 10, 1994
allowing 1994 ROEs for BC Gas at 10.75%, WKP at 11.0%, PNG at 11.5% and
Centra Gas at 11.125%.  The Decision is available from the Commission,
free of charge, upon request.

BC Gas Utility Ltd.

 G-26-94 and G-29-94 - 1994/95 Revenue Requirements Application

On November 22, 1993 BC Gas filed its 1994/95 Revenue Requirements
Application with the Commission, based on a two-year test period, to
increase rates on an interim and permanent basis to the captive rates of
customers in the Lower Mainland, Inland and Columbia Divisions, effective
January 1, 1994 and a further increase effective January 1, 1995.  A
reduced interim increase was approved effective January 1, 1994.  The
public hearings were held in the Commission's Hearing Room at the
following times:

1994 Revenue Requirements Application

On February 11, 1994 British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C.
Hydro") applied to the Commission for an order approving an interim
refundable general rate increase of 2.8% effective April 1, 1994.  The
interim increase was approved by Order No. G-18-94 and the application was
set down for public hearing to commence on September 12, 1994 in the
Commission's Hearing Room.  Filing dates and deadlines have been confirmed
by way of Commission Order No. G-30-94 and Notice of Public Hearing.

An Executive Summary of the Application is available to Interested
Parties, upon request from B.C. Hydro, at no charge.

Copies of the Application and supporting material are available from B.C.
Hydro and are also available for inspection at the main district offices
of the utility or at the offices of the British Columbia Utilities
Commission, Sixth Floor, 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, B.C.
