Number twenty-two is one I always advocate in my virus seminars: use the old beast as a virus/trojan test and quarantine machine. I suspect the author was writing tongue-in-cheek when suggesting that your old machine could be a charitable donation, but there are a number of organizations in the United States whose sole purpose is to arrange donations of "outmoded" equipment for schools and charities. It would have been useful if these groups had been mentioned. A bit of fun in the gag gift department, but it could even be justified on the budget of corporate "surplus" offices. copyright Robert M.
