For the computer novice, this provides a serviceable guide to getting started
with, and running, Windows 95.  Illustrations (vital in a book on a GUI OS) are
clear and well labelled, and the directions for functions and operations are
quite clear.  (The marginal notes and icons are probably not as useful as the
authors might think.)
 
For the upgrader, though, this is probably not the book to get.  While there
are plenty of tips in the material, as well as specific references to "how it
used to be" in Windows 3.x, important topics such as keyboard shortcuts get
very short shrift.
