This is a very complete and useful overview for anyone getting involved with
CD-ROM for the first time.  It covers the basic concepts, hardware,
installation, the basics of publishing and network use.  There is an extensive
annotated catalogue of titles.  Additional material looks at standards,
technologies, and vendor contacts.  The text is both readable and accurate.
 
Of the CD-ROM books i have reviewed to date, this is the most useful.
