The directions are written for a common platform with an IDE, or possibly SCSI, hard drive and DOS partitioning. The initial explanations are not always clear, but once the material moves into the specific instructions for installation there should be no problems. The content deals only with installation, and does not cover UNIX use or operation. Book two, about three quarters of the printed book, is actually "Linux Installation and Getting Started" from the Linux Documentation Project, and written by Matt Welsh. This section does deal with basic UNIX commands and system management, although not to the same extent as "Running Linux" (cf. BKRUNLIN.RVW). The appendices from book two cover sources of Linux and Linux information. copyright Robert M.
