This is a fairly standard format with the addition of a fairly helpful series of icons indicating the need, danger, and other comments about, the command. Added sections listing batch and configuration commands increase the value. With some few exceptions, the format is the usual brief description, option overview and switch list. The exceptions are multiple entries for some commands with multiple functions (in the opinion of the author). Thus, there are three separate entries for the COPY command: for device to file, file to device, and file to file. DBLSPACE gets no less than fifteen separate entries. I suspect that the functions could have been made more clearly, with less waste of space, as one entry with explanatory text. Some common and valuable uses, such as the ubiquitous "COPY CON filename", are explained, while others, such as the very helpful "DIR/S" are only mentioned as another option without pointing out the function. Therefore, while this is a handy reference for those who know DOS, it has a ways to go before it reaches "the Rest of Us". copyright Robert M.
