For those interested in getting started on the construction of pages for the
World Wide Web, this is a good, solid introduction.  Common, and all too
infrequently noted, traps and pitfalls are demonstrated.  The material also
takes a lot of care to point out that different browsers can give wildly
varying presentations of the same HTML code.
 
For those interested in "hands-on" work, the CD-ROM included with the book
contains a selection of useful shareware: HTML editors, tools, templates and
even a Web server.
