BKIPEDOS.RVW 940523 WorldComm Creativity, Inc. 65 Macedonia Road Alexander, NC 28701 704/252-9515 "In Plain English DOS", Nimersheim, 1993, 1-56664-029-6, U$9.95/C$12.95 This introduction is simple and small. For those who want only the most basic "how to" of simple DOS operations, this is a good starter. In that case, however, there is a fair amount here that is extraneous, such as the explanation of what DOS is. (It also will make the technically literate wince.) It is reasonable to have a book covering only the basics. Those basics are well chosen here, and this certainly defines the commands that the average user would need in normal operations. It also covers installation and the help system, which is often missed in user guides. However, for those actually interested in the operating system, you will have to go elsewhere. And, of course, most users don't even think about reaching for a book until the operations become abnormal. (It is also almost criminally negligent to explain to users how to alter their own CONFIG.SYS files, with no information on the kind of chaos they can thus create.) copyright Robert M.
