For all its bulk, this is yet another Java book for C programmers.  An initial
section is provided which is supposed to get newcomers over the programming, C,
and object-oriented hump.  The material, while relevant, is not very tutorial.
 
The remainder of the book is clear enough, and fairly complete.  One general
failure is the frequency of typos and other errors.  (If even I, the world's
worst copy editor, can find mistakes in the Introduction, you know there are a
lot of goofs.)
