It is informative, detailed, and gives something of a feel for IRC chatting. The rest of the book would have made a good magazine article, except that it is too long. Material is presented in a disorganized fashion, and topics get repeated in multiple places. Unfortunately, this repetition doesn't provide additional information. A great deal of important stuff is simply missing. The section on mailing lists doesn't cover the vital functions of subscribing and unsubscribing. The virus section has errors, internal contradictions, and nothing about "Good Times". The netiquette section has nothing about chain letters and other garbage. copyright Robert M.
