But a recapitulation, nonetheless. The material is well written, but lacks any analysis or shortcuts that might ease the learning curve. Tips are noticeably absent, and there is no attempt to relate specific functions to practical applications. Some may take issue with this assessment in light of the disk included with the book. It contains files with a number of business and personal finance "forms". However, while some may find the forms useful, they would have been much more so had the book shown, at any point, how to develop them. The fact that the forms *have* been produced with Excel does not in any way answer the question of "how". In addition, while the forms demonstrate some graphical and minor arithmetical features of Excel, many more important functions are left out. The invoice form, for example, has no ties to any worksheets tracking inventory, cash or accounts receivable. copyright Robert M.
