McFedries has managed to put together a work that manages to talk to the average (read "novice") user, and still pass along a lot of useful information. Procedures are explained fully, without expecting that the reader is thoroughly familiar with the arcana of EDLIN and INI files. One could quibble with some of the author's choices in organization and depth of topic, but that would tend to come down to personal choice. Personally, I would rather have seen a bit more detail on the AUTOEXEC.BAT file earlier, and I would have copied, and used, boot files on the recovery disk. Still, there are arguments to be made for all the suggestions McFedries makes, and nobody is going to go wrong from following them. For the non-technical user, a very handy guide. copyright Robert M.
