This book presents the basics of Microsoft Word for Windows 95 and makes it as
easy to use, and about as functional, as Notepad.  As little as those who have
ever worked in support positions may like it, this is probably appropriate. 
The result is a kind of "Big Golden Book of Word" presentation which can be
worked through by the rankest novice in a few hours.  Topics covered include
invoking the program, saving files, printing, exiting, opening, cursor
movement, fonts, text position, headers, corrections, undo, cut and paste,
search and replace, and spelling checks.
 
Appropriately for a GUI (graphical user interface) program, there is a heavy
emphasis on illustrations and screenshots.  Unlike a good many other books of
similar bent, the illustrations are well captioned and explained.  Arrows point
out the buttons or other objects to be pushed, while the text explains, quite
clearly, what will happen.
