Christmas Wreath
Original pricking is 7 cm. in diameter (just under 3 inches), suitable for sewing machine cottons and metallics. There are two passives around the outside within picot edge. If you print this page, the pricking should be about right. You can also right-click on the pricking and save it to resize it in your paint program.
Start at any row above a cluster of tallies. I prefer to start with 2 pairs to a pin across the short row (one with less pin holes) then work the long row before the tallies. Use honeycomb ground (CTT,p,CTT) as the pairs will stay together throughout the lace. In line with the tallies, hang in a red pair with a green pair, such that one of each colour ends up being a true pair. In this way the red weaver can be brought into use for each tally, but is used with a green thread in the ground. .
Other ideas: instead of coloured tallies use large beads, and instead of picots use seed beads, or put extra twists to the weaver pair before setting the outermost pins.
